Maintenance Supervisor

🧰 Responsibilities


  • Perform and lead corrective and preventive maintenance on production, packaging, refrigeration, and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electro-mechanical, and basic electronic systems.
  • Serve as the first responder to equipment breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration systems; coordinate with external contractors as needed.
  • Supervise and assign work to maintenance technicians based on production priorities.
  • Execute and improve preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Support equipment setups, changeovers, and minor modifications for safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA/FSIS, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
  • Enforce safety procedures including lockout/tagout and electrical safety.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing; food or meat processing strongly preferred.
  • Refrigeration experience required; license or certification preferred.
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

  • Perform inspections of raw materials, in-process product, and finished goods
  • Complete all quality records, logs, and HACCP documentation accurately
  • Identify, document, and escalate food safety or quality deviations
  • Verify sanitation standards, equipment cleanliness, and employee hygiene
  • Support audits as needed

  •  High school diploma required; associate's degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably USDA-regulated
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety principles
  • SQF or GFSI experience preferred
