Production Technician

SCHEDULE: 12-hour rotating shift

Responsibilities:

  • Keep the work area and surrounding areas clean and free of debris and trip hazards.
  • Learn quality requirements for material grading.
  • Learn where the machine line stops and emergency stops are located and familiarize yourself with the equipment and how it functions.
  • Wrap and stack material that has been graded as “good”.
  • Pull “bad” material off the line and stack in a designated area.
  • Use a tape measure and miter saw to cut runners and sideboards to the proper length for banding.
  • This information is found on the production schedule.
  • Band the last unit of each run so the sander operator can begin setup for the next production.
  • Ensure the UPC label being applied is the correct label.
  • Stop the line and find a supervisor if any issues arise with quality or equipment malfunctions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve higher engagement and empowerment, crosstraining, and personal growth.

  • Attend and actively participate in team business meetings and Team Management System meetings.
  • Assist team in making good business decisions.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to complete repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Required to wear hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE as required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in manufacturing facility preferred.

Electrician

Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, preventive/predictive maintenance, setup, troubleshooting and repair of mill machinery.
  • Provide electrical support and maintenance for hydraulics, pneumatics, hot oil systems, pumps, fans and conveyors.
  • Conduct facility preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment.  
  • Maintenance and update of documentation for electrical systems.
  • Replaces: Motors (low voltage and high voltage), motor starters, sensors and variable frequency drives.
  • Provide troubleshooting of Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers (plc), associated I/O and control networks.
  • Troubleshoot plant control instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters).
  • Troubleshoot complex drive systems.
  • Maintain mill power distribution system (480V, 575V, 4160V and 13.8kV).
  • Perform equipment changeovers.
  • Generate detailed work records and hand over notes to facilitate proper communication between work crews.
  • Document all work performed in the CMMS.
  • Promote safe work practices including LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, etc
  • Schedule and organize work methods, materials and parts.
  • Operate maintenance equipment (forklifts, aerial lift platforms, skid steer loaders).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner
  • Complete assigned work orders and support operations during upset condition.
  •  Work closely with area operators to resolve maintenance-related issues.
  • Responsible for shift pass down to oncoming technicians 
  • Maintain Electrical Logbook and keep it current at the end of each shift
  • Understand and support the area maintenance initiative
  • Assist in developing  PMs for your area of responsibility
  • Know the downtime issues in your area and work to resolve them
  • Investigate the root cause of equipment failure and make recommendations for long term fix.
  • Enter appropriate work requests for required follow-up work.
  • Complete assigned work orders or other PM/PdM activities as assigned and return completed paperwork

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years industrial manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated electrical and technical aptitude
  • Allen Bradley PLC knowledge
  • Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience
  • Three years AC & DC motor control experience (including drives) required
  • Three years electrical troubleshooting experience required
  • Familiarity of the basic functions of a CMMS system preferred
  • Strong written and communication skills required
  • Ability to work extended hours and rotating shift as required
  • Ability to work at heights, in hot, noisy & dirty environments required
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs required
  • Proven ability to be a self-motivated and a self-starter required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook  preferred
