Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Crew Member

The Cut & Wrap Crew Member, under the direction of the Line Leader, works as a team member of a Cut and Wrap packaging line, which meets or exceeds company and customer quality packaging specifications.

  • Checks pallet identifications to ensure that the right product has been selected for the specific line and customer.
  • Responsible for removing boxes from the cheese and to store the removed materials in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Remove forms from the 640’s and store the forms properly, and trim blocks as necessary due to surface defects.
  • Process, accurately weigh and label trim, underweights, or other usable cheese, store properly in trim totes.
  • Provides for movement of product through packaging lines, to include: separating pieces and feeding them to check-weigher, feeding them into the packaging machines, or individually placing them into bags.
  • Accurately weighs pieces of cheese, communicates variances to target, and make necessary additions or subtractions prior to packaging.
  • Ensures product meets or exceeds quality standards (which includes but are not limited to): free from foreign objects, metal detection expectations are met, visual inspection of product.

Ideal Candidate Qualities / Elements Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Solid knowledge of SQF, HAACP, GMP’s and sanitation regulations preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and write, and possess mathematical and weight measurement skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to set up equipment, adjust settings and make mechanical assessments.
  • Pallet jack certification preferred.
  • Ability to foster and support a Team environment through good interpersonal skills.
  • Schedule flexibility and willingness to work overtime required.
