Maintenance Technician

 Perform all maintenance, installation and repair work on equipment and buildings that are necessary to the operation of the plant and office facilities. Requires broad experience , training and/or knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical methods and procedures. Proceeds on work assignments with a minimum of supervision and/or direction to perform quality work.
 
JOB DUTIES:
 
  • Performs work on facilities, equipment, systems, and machines relating to the following: heating, electri electrical, air conditioning, ventilating, plumbing, electronic, painting, fluids, carpentry, machining, grounds work, welding, soldering, brazing, cutting, rigging, moving, sheet metal, erecting, concrete, sprinkler systems, engines, building repair, chemical use or storage, etc.
  • Works on job duties such as, but not limited to: Maintenance repair, installing, fabricating, adjusting, trouble shooting, tearing down, rebuilding, leveling, fitting, aligning, painting, etc.
  • Works from complicated drawings, maintenance and service manuals sketches, blueprints, specifications and verbal or written instructions.
  • Performs regular inspections and maintains records on fire prevention equipment, boiler equipment and safety hazards, etc.
  • Identify and order necessary maintenance parts.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties; effect repairs and/or adjusts either temporarily or permanently to keep machines in production.
  • Insure proper tooling inventory is maintained at all times.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • May use a variety of machine tools including, but not limited to lathes, milling machines, drill press, grinders, hones, bores, and hand tools.
  • Performs assigned start-up and shut-down functions on plant facilities as required.
  • Recognize operating irregularities and safety hazards and take corrective action or notify proper person to correct.
  • Instruct and train other assigned employees on work methods, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment.
  • Work safely at ALL times and comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices.
  • Keep work area, equipment, machines, storage areas, etc. clean and orderly at all times.
  • Communicate daily with Technicians from other shifts, Team Lead, and Manager as to the condition of equipment within your responsibility.
  • Offer suggestions relative to improving work process, procedures, productivity, job safety, or work environment.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed by immediate Team Lead, Manager, or other designated person.
  • Must perform as a team member with the willingness and attitude to work with others to resolve problems. Must also maintain a good working relationship with others within the organization.
MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be proficient at advanced shop mathematics.
  • Requires the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas and precision measuring instruments.
  • Requires training and/or knowledge of mechanical methods and procedures.
  • Must use considerable judgment to plan and perform unusual and difficult work with limited direction.
  • Must be able to lift 25 – 50 pounds, 15 to 40 percent of the workday.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years mechanical maintenance experience required.
  • Industrial electrical experience is a plus.

Machinist

 Set-up, adjust and operate multiple spindle automatic screw machines to perform progressive machining operations on a variety of standardized work having close tolerance and finish requirements. Troubleshoot and perform general maintenance on screw machines. May set-up and operate one or more machines to accomplish assigned work. Proceeds on work assignments with a minimum of supervision and/or direction. Must be able to communicate and use tact to instruct and assist operators
 
JOB DUTIES:
 
  • Working from set-up layout, plan set-up and normal operating routine unassisted using prescribed methods.
  • Using a variety of measuring and gauging equipment, perform first piece inspection on all spindles and have verified by other team member.
  • Perform required adjustments and changes in layouts to tooling during new set-up.
  • Obtain required tooling from Tool crib personnel, as necessary.
  • Verify routers and revisions against blueprints prior to machining parts.
  • Load bar stock.
  • Ensure quality of product by first piece inspections, periodically checking parts and charting for statistical process control as required.
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance on tool machines as required and react to malfunctions or notify appropriate personnel to correct.
  • Will be certified in the proper installation and operation of all attachments.
  • Work safely at ALL times and comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices.
  • Meet or exceed production requirements or contact Facilitator with reason for deviations from standards.
  • Keep work area, equipment, machines, etc., clean and orderly at all times
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties and related functions as directed by Team Lead, Manager or other designated person.
  • Offer suggestions relative to improving productivity, process, safety, work environment, housekeeping, etc.
  • Communicate daily with operators from other shifts as to condition of machines and/or jobs.
  • Notify Team Lead or Manager of shortages of production tools, fixtures, oils, or other related problems.
  • Maintain records relating to production, downtime, work hours, quality, etc.
  • Will perform as a team member with the willingness and attitude to work with others to resolve problems. Must also maintain a good working relationship with others within the operation.
MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be proficient in shop math, blueprint reading, specifications, charts, tables, a variety of precision measuring instruments.
  • Prefer a candidate with 2 or more years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience.
  • Set-up and troubleshooting experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team attitude essential.
