CNC MACHINIST
Job Description & Duties
- Operating CNC machines (horizontal and vertical) at an expert level
- Program Fanuc and Siemens NC controls using CAM, G-code and macros
- Setting up fixtures/work-holding, and selecting tooling for test cuts and 1st articles.
- Operating Robotics systems (Fanuc) for machine tending
- Cleaning up parts, deburring parts, air blowing the holes, vacuuming cutting chips, and wiping parts
- Cleaning up the machines, equipment and working area
- Maintaining the machines and equipment: refilling the oil, grease, coolant, and replacing filters
- Loading/unloading parts by crane and forklift to the machining fixtures
- Assembling cutting tools and replacing the inserts, measuring the tooling and managing the tool life
- Measuring and inspecting the parts and ensuring the quality of the parts
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Ability to define and troubleshoot manufacturing/machining processes. Strong analytical/problem solving abilities
- Broad knowledge of cutting tools with the ability to calculate optimal speeds and feeds
- Working knowledge of part inspection devices and techniques with a basic understanding of metallurgy
- Ability to effectively communicate at varying technical levels to internal staff, customers, and suppliers
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Proven experience communicating professionally with internal and external customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proven organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to safely operate an overhead crane.
- Fundamental computer operation skills and experience using MS Office programs.
- Must be able to lift to 51 pounds.
- Forklift certification – preferred.
