Truss Production Laborer

Job Description & Duties

  • Start up and stop equipment/machinery.
  • Assist with production line in the Truss Plant.
  • Ensure a clean, safe production area.
  • Load and unload items from machines, carts and dollies.
  • Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
  • Lubricate equipment.
  • Ensure conformance to product/process specifications.
  • Pull damaged or ineffective equipment off the line.
  • Mark parts for identification.
  • Measure length of article.
  • Remove product or machine attachments.
  • Remove waste material from machine.
  • Accurately record data.
  • Load and unload processing equipment.
  • Package/ship finished products.

Requirements

  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and take direction from production Foreman, Assistant Foreman/Supervisors.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate the safe and proper use and maintenance of tools, machines and equipment.
  • Must know or be able to learn and understand all aspects of the truss building process.
  • Must be able to lift, pull and push weights from 25lbs – 75lbs.
  • Must be able to stand at work station for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk continuously during shift.
  • Must be able to reach with both hands/arms.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, which can be noisy and dusty.
  • Must be able to work in both hot and cold temperatures, depending on weather conditions.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
