POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Representative is responsible for supporting HR operations by managing employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and compliance. They play a key role in maintaining positive workplace environments and ensuring that the organization's HR practices align with legal and regulatory standards. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for keeping all HR files up to date and compliant.
- General office duties such as answering phones, filing, assisting visitors.
- Benefits administration including leave of absence, Short Term Disability meetings, FMLA administration, and handling employee questions.
- Assisting with recruitment processes such as posting job openings, conducting initial screenings, and coordinating interviews.
- Meets with managers and supervisors to develop specific recruiting plans, and partners with them to determine staffing needs.
- Processes job requisitions and manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Implements advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
- Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), coordinates background checks and new-hire drug testing, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings.
- Arranges travel and lodging for applicants, if necessary.
- Responsible for employee off-boarding by performing such duties as: paperwork completion for terminations and exit interviews.
- Supporting compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
- Create new hire files.
- Verbally interpret and translate written company communications and documents.
- Assist employees with questions, time off requests, badge issues, time clock entries, etc.
- Assist with benefit enrollment on an annual basis and for all new hires within 30 days of employment.
- Update and maintain personnel records by performing data entry on employee-related changes, including new hires, address changes, position changes, salary changes, and department transfers in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide general office support as needed.
- Special event planning such as Wellness Team and employee relations events.
- Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and healthy in all jobs and tasks
- Adhere to Quality work practices, follow all GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
- Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
