Job Description & Duties

POSITION SUMMARY: 

To ensure a high quality product is being packaged at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains all tray packers and ensures proper operations (loading trays, maintaining proper glue volume, etc.)
  • Maintains video jet to ensure they are properly cleaned, adequate liquid is available, correct information is coded, and print is clear and readable at all times.
  • Monitors shrink-wrap machine and adds film as required.
  • Fill in for other Packaging machine operator for breaks and when on vacations.
  • Monitor date on master shipper for legibility and to make corrective actions when necessary.
  • Set-up of equipment and material for a production run.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe, productive work area.
  • Fosters open communications and a good attitude toward work and fellow employees.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
  • Perform Sanitation procedures in accordance with department and food safety standards (sometimes for the duration of your shift).
  • Run, clean, conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot extended run fillers, i.e.: Elopack Fillers/Capers Scholle.
  • Ability to navigate operating system on tablets in order to conduct required quality and performance checks
  • Follow instructions for ingredient mixing
  • Ability to calculate mathematical equations, figures, and amounts to include proportions, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
  • Performs other similar duties and responsibilities as requested.

Job Description & Duties

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Position duties include running of computerized process systems, hooking up silos, performing CIP’s of silos and equipment, blending and sanitation tasks in a manner that results in the optimum production of quality products while maintaining a safe, sterile and efficient operation. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability and willingness to assist in other areas of the business as needed.
  • Ability to operate the HTST processing system, CIP system and records all time, temperature, pressure, and flow rates as required by the company. Detects and reports or acts upon any system abnormality to reduce the risk of and damage to the system or product.
  • Understanding of how an aseptic system operates and how sanitation, bacterial control, and sterilization are related to it in the process as well as work area to achieve the high quality standards set by the company.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor maintenance repairs.
  • Coordinated with the packaging lead person the status of the system to allow timely hook up and startup of the production line.
  • Clean silos, mix room, totes, pumps, UHT press, hooking up all CIP lines necessary.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot CIP systems to ensure they are operating properly. Check the chemical concentration to make sure that the concentration is in line to clean all equipment satisfying the company and USDA standards.
  • Monitors the chemical usage in the chemical rooms making sure all drums have chemical in them and operating correctly to meet the correct PPM for each chemical cycle set by the company.
  • Prepare written reports and maintain assigned logs, records, and other documentation required by the company and USDA.
  • Have complete knowledge of mix room and equipment. Blend mixed products using outlined mix procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for moving materials to and from proper storage areas by
operating a small industrial vehicle.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend pre-shift meetings, including stretching as a group.
• Drive forklift in a safe and productive manner.
• Complete the daily forklift inspection and remove the lift from service if a defect is
detected.
• Ship and receive product damage free and accurately by completing the Quality
Reassurance Checks.
• Monitor the floor for safety concerns or infractions and act appropriately.
• Complete all documents and paperwork completely and accurately.
• Fill customer orders accurately and follow the customer’s special instructions.
• Work very closely with the office staff to ensure discrepancies and issues are completed
accurately.
• Ensure warehouse is organized, clean, damages are taken care of and pallets are off the
floor and placed into bins.
• Promote teamwork within your team and between teams by communicating in a positive
and pleasant manner.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that
product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• High school diploma or G.E.D or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• The successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck training program and pass the
forklift certification.
• Effectively read, write and speak English.
• Strong math and configuration is necessary
• Ability to analyze situations and make the best decision which benefits the company
without jeopardizing the health and well-being of the employee

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• A minimum of six months experience in a palletized warehouse environment is preferred.
• Good Inter-Personal skills are required.
• Certification is preferred but, is not required at the time of hire. All distribution operators
will be provided with MFI approved P.I.T. training /certification at the start of
employment.

Boiler Operator

Job Description & Duties

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the plant boilers and refrigeration equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for safe operation, preventative maintenance and repairs of plant compressed air system, plant water and sewer system, water softening system and fire protection system.
· Performs or assists with roof repairs and leaks.
· Maintains working knowledge and understanding of the plant boiler system and refrigeration equipment.
· Works with other shift operators on all shifts to insure all components of the boiler system are fit for use, safe and capable of operating as required by plant operations.
· Knows and understands all start up, shut down, operating procedures for safe and efficient operations of the plant boiler system.
· Monitors boiler and condenser condition and treat water as needed to keep boilers and refrigeration system condenser scale free. Works with water chemical suppliers on changes they propose.
· Performs all needed preventive maintenance to assure optimum up-time operation with minimum adverse impact on production.
· Assures that the entire system is operated in a safe manner and that all components of the system are in compliance with OSHA and other agencies.
· Lends knowledge and ideas to the solution of problems involving the plant boiler and steam system.
· Keeps accurate and neat logs on the plant boilers and refrigeration systems. Check compressor area for any problems and inform proper people of any problems.
· Assist in training of new employees.
· Requires participation in Emergency Response Team and Process Safety Management.
· Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
· Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

Qualifications

  • 2 years ammonia refrigeration experience
  • MN First Class "B" Boiler Operator license
