Truss Assembler

Job Description & Duties

  • Semi-skilled carpentry labor to fabricate wall frame panels and trusses. Most operations use automated fabrication equipment.
  • Gather precut wood parts to build floor and roof trusses.
  • Verify sizes of each part and move into position on the assembly equipment.
  • Place metal reinforcement plates over the connections.
  • Pushing, pulling or moving trusses.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Maintain open communication with the assembly team.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and move materials, use a hammer and other hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to learn and operate power operated hand tools.
  • Ability to see when the truss pieces are not fitting and be able to communicate and help fix the problem.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Interest and ability to learn new skills.

  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Full time employees can also qualify for a monthly attendance bonus after their first month of employment.  In order to qualify, the employee needs to have perfect attendance during the month.  If their attendance is perfect, they receive a bonus equivalent to $0.50 per hour for each qualifying hour worked during that month.  Not that if a person that needs to miss some time for a medical appointment and they notify the plant manager in advance, then they are not penalized if they make up the lost time within a week.  Also, vacation days are not penalized.  If we move one of your placements to out payroll after 3 months, we will waive the first month requirement.

A new destination 

Pembroke It is a fairly quiet town after dark, and the people in the community are very nice and welcoming. The whole town gets together every year and have Old Home Day, a day where everyone can just have fun and socialize.
 
It's a small town feel, and everyone knows everyone. It has so much amazing history. You can see historic houses all over town and understand the history of Pembroke. The people of Pembroke are very friendly. There is not a lot of crime in Pembroke and it is safe living here.
