MACHINIST

Entry level to intermediate

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as grinders, lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, and drill presses and automated machining equipment with little or no supervision.
  • Perform required process checks and/or inspections per the process documentation.
  • Document nonconforming material according to procedures, participate in activities to implement root cause and corrective actions identified.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, regulations and operating procedures.
  • Utilize computer programs to enter part data (e.g., serial number), log time, look up instructions and blueprints and download programs.
  • Utilize work instructions, set-up sheets and method documents to correctly operate machines and inspect machined parts.
  • Utilize various gauging equipment to ensure conformance to the engineering specifications and standards through the production run.
  • Clean and maintain machining centers, measuring instruments and test equipment and inspect parts for cleanliness (e.g., routed and deburring operations). Operate precision inspection equipment and perform first piece check out when applicable to the job.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints for proper production task completion.
  • Perform routed operations of precision close tolerance parts

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing such as perpendicularity, perpendicularity under load, parallelism, flatness. This includes the ability to interpret tolerances on prints and perform inspection techniques. This includes the ability to interpret datum structures, material condition tolerances, orientation tolerances.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of grinding, turning, milling, drilling using machining equipment such as grinders, lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, and drill presses
  • Basic knowledge of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) programming/machining including the ability to read, understand, edit basic programs.

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Certification from a technical/trade school or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 1 – 10 years of manual machining experience.

MACHINIST

Experienced, Senior Level

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Perform required process checks and/or inspections per the process documentation.
  • Identify, document and control non-conforming material according to procedures, identify and implement corrective actions to address non-conformance and implement root cause corrective actions.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, regulations and operating procedures.
  • Utilize computer programs to enter part data (e.g., serial number), log time, look up instructions and blueprints and download programs.
  • Utilize work instructions, set-up sheets and method documents to correctly operate machines and inspect machined parts.

New Destination

Zeeland, Michigan, in Ottawa county, is 17 miles SW of Wyoming, Michigan, and 96 miles E of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The city is part of the Grand Rapids - Muskegon - Holland metropolitan statistical area (MSA).

There are several museums near Zeeland such as the Cappon House Museum, the Gerald R. Ford Museum, and the Holland Museum. There are also many parks including Grand Haven State Park, Holland State Park, and Saugatuck Dunes State Park. You will have Grand Rapids 20 minutes away, where you can also find more active nightlife.

Overall, it is a city with a good community, an excellent school system, with low cost of living, and a low crime rate.  Zeeland is a wonderful place to live where you can find entertainment for everyone.
